Three things your family needs to know

We are honest with families before they pay. Traditional family records are identified using the ancestral village, the Gotra and the family name. If your family knows those three, we can almost always begin. Parents', grandparents' and other elders' names are collected later, during your intake — they are not needed to start.

All three must actually be known before we can take payment.

Ancestral village — knownThe place your family came from in India, not the city you live in now. A village or town name is what we work from.Gotra — knownGotra is how a priest locates the right family register among thousands of pages. You need to know it before we begin.Family name — knownThe family name the record is kept under.

Parents', grandparents' and elders' names, the district and state, pronunciation recordings and other remembered details are collected during your intake after purchase. They are not required now.

You don't need to know the names of the rites — we will establish the appropriate arrangements with the priest.Family Bahi Update — £395Choose this if the traditional rites have already been arranged and you only need help identifying or reconnecting with the priest responsible for your family's Bahi and coordinating the update.

The priest responsible for the Bahi decides what may be recorded. Where rites are requested, the appropriate priest advises what is suitable for the family's circumstances.
