Refunds & conversions

Some lineages will not be present in the registers we can reach, and some registers cannot be accessed. These terms are written for those cases, and for optional additional-centre searches.

A professional search, not a guaranteed discovery

Our service is a professional heritage research service. We cannot guarantee that a matching family register entry will be found, because records may be incomplete, unavailable, damaged, held by a different priest family, or located at another centre. Once research has begun, the search fee is non-refundable. If no matching record is found, we still provide a search result explaining what was searched, what information was used, and any recommended next steps.

Register entry/update credit

The register entry/update service is selected before payment and is charged once per order. The £100 register entry/update credit is only used if a suitable register route is confirmed and entry or update work begins. If entry/update work does not begin, the £100 credit can either be refunded or used toward an additional centre search.

Where possible, this may mean updating an existing family register entry or starting a new family entry with the appropriate register holder. This depends on the centre, register holder and information available, and is not guaranteed.

Cancellation before research begins

You can cancel before field research begins for a full refund. After research has begun, the search fee is non-refundable and you will receive a written account of the work completed.

Centre selection before payment

The assessment may suggest more than one credible register route. Before payment, the customer may select between one and four centres. The quote shows the first-centre research fee and each additional-centre component separately. No centre is included in the order unless the customer selects it and successfully completes payment.

If genuinely new information identifies another credible centre after research has begun, any later scope expansion must be explained separately and requires the customer’s express approval and payment before that additional work starts.
