Understanding your family’s Hindu traditions after a bereavement
Hindu rituals after death are not one fixed sequence. What follows a funeral or cremation depends on the family's region, community, sampradaya and the practice of its hereditary priest, so families are often unsure whether anything further applies to them.
Your family may already have completed the funeral, cremation, ashes immersion or prayers where you live. We ask about those events as useful context, but your family’s religious tradition, ancestral background and priestly connections determine the route. Indian Archive identifies the appropriate priest and works with that priest to establish which rites and observances apply.

We establish your family's traditional path
We review your family's religious and ancestral background, identify the appropriate priestly route and work with the relevant Hindu priest to establish which rites and observances apply.

We coordinate the agreed work in India
We arrange the priest-advised rites or observances and, where relevant, coordinate the family's Bahi or traditional register work. Indian Archive handles the normal India-side communication, payments, customary offerings, ritual materials and coordination included in the service.

You receive your Completion Report
Your report records what was arranged, what was completed, who was involved, the outcome of any relevant family-register work and any supporting material made available and permitted.
