Traditional family registers in India

For generations, hereditary priests and record-holding families have maintained handwritten registers connected with ancestral places and communities. They are private traditional records, not a government database, and they are not generally searchable online.

Historic research is not part of Indian Archive's current public bereavement journey. Existing research orders and records remain supported, but this page is retained as background information rather than a separate purchase route.

After a bereavement, a register connection may still be relevant. Families do not need to identify a centre or choose a Bahi-only product. Indian Archive reviews the information they know and coordinates any appropriate family-register work as one part of the managed service.
