Where Hindu family registers may be held
There is no single national Bahi archive and not every Hindu family has the same route. Registers are held by hereditary custodians and organised through ancestral places, family and community connections.
Places and traditions
The right connection depends on the family
These are examples, not a directory of routes for customers to choose from. Haridwar is important for many families but is not universal.
Pehowa and Kurukshetra
These traditions may be relevant to families with roots in Punjab, Haryana and surrounding regions.
Gaya, Prayagraj and Varanasi
Different families and communities may have historic ritual or register connections with these places.

Family registers and hereditary custodians exist in a range of local and pilgrimage traditions. The ancestral place and family information help establish what may be relevant.
